The CHC program uses the Body Systems Approach, Disease Tree and other models to make it easy to learn how to use herbs, supplements and other natural healing modalities in a systematic manner. This systematic approach helps you obtain consistent and dependable results.
Our current "health-care" system is really a disease-care system because it focuses on treating illness after it has already started. Furthermore, it often only offers symptomatic relief, not a genuine return to lasting, natural health. This course lays out four fundamental principles that will help you learn how to have true health care for yourself and your loved ones. You'll be given principles that will help you rapidly and permanently heal injuries and relieve pain (usually in less than 20 minutes). You'll learn how to get over acute illness quickly, usually in less than 24 hours, and how to rapidly relieve common health problems like sore throats and earaches. You'll also learn how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, develop positive mental attitudes and achive emotional balance that will not only help you recover from more serious illness, but also to achieve a high level of wellness in every aspect of your life.
This course offers a unique approach to restoring and maintaining health. It explains how to Activate the healing response, Build the body with good nutrition, Cleanse the body and environment to get rid of toxins and provide Direct Aid to balance the biological terrain in weak body systems. The ABCs of this system are covered in detail in the Fundamentals of Natural Healing course, while this course focuses more on the +D or direct aid part of this process.
This is is a course in the practical application of herbal medicine. In it, you'll learn all the fundamentals of how to prepare herbs and admininster them. This course discusses all of the major dosage forms that can be used to administer herbal remedies and the strengths and weakness of each. It includes information on how to prepare herbs for administration both internally and topically. It also discusses numerous ways to use herbs both topically and internally.
This course will help you understand how herbs work on the energetic and biochemical levels. You'll learn about the “doctrine of signatures, ” that is, how a plant’s taste, smell, shape, color, texture, form and habitat provide clues to its “medicinal power.” You'll also get a layman's introduction to plant chemistry (phytochemistry or pharmacognosy) by learning about some of the major chemical found in plants that provide their healing properties.
The best way to understand how to use herbs is to understand how they act on the human body. These actions are called properties. In this course you'll learn the definitions of all the major properties of herbs. These properties will be grouped by body system to make learning them easier to understand. You'll also learn when that property is indicated and contraindicated and be given examples of herbs that have that property. When you understand properties you're never stuck using a particular herb for a particular problem.
In Traditional Health Assessment you’ll learn the process of assessing the various aspects of a person’s health, starting with their constitution, the root causes of illness in their life, their biological terrain, and their body systems that are weak. It provides you with the tools you need to analyze all the aspects of a person’s health.
This class is a two-day, on-site workshop that will provide hands-on training and practice in using traditional health assessment tools, including tongue analysis, pulse assessment and muscle response testing. We will also have practice observing the clients face, hands and manerisms.
