Manager School (2017)
Manager School (2017)

In the late 1980s Steven Horne taught a very effective four-day school that helped hundreds of NSP Distributors build successful businesses. He did this while working for NSP as an employee, which meant he couldn't say very much about what the products actually did. What he did teach was a system of assessing people's health based on body systems (structure and function), without making any reference to diseases. In fact, he personally found this system got him consistent results with herbs and supplements, results he was never able to achieve when he relied on an historical uses approach linking herbs and supplements with diseases.

Steven continues to use this system today, with some additional elements, of course, and still finds it highly effectve. So, now, thirty years later, Steven wants to reignite the success of Manager School in his quest to train a whole new generation of herbalists. You don't have to be involved with NSP to benefit from this system either. It's a way of thinking about consulting that's more legally safe and very effective at helping people rebuild and maintain good health.

The class will be held via webinar, but all classes will be recorded so you can watch them at your leisure. Student forums will allow you to ask questions about the material and get the answers and assistance you require. Quizzes will help you master and apply the material.

Here is a description of what you'll learn in the 12 lessons in this class. Dates for each session are given,

Lesson One: Tools of the Trade (August 3)

In our first lesson we'll introduce the basic tools we'll be using throughout the rest of the course. We'll start by teaching basic of muscle response testing techniques and introducing iridology. These are the two primary health assessment tools we will utilize in the course. We will also overview of the entire ABC+D system of health consulting system, which focuses on identifying and balancing weak body systems instead of trying to directly treat diseases, which not only makes consulting legally safe for the consultant, it actually produces better results for the client.

Lesson Two: Structure/Function Not Disease (August 10)

The goal for the natural health consultant should be to restore tissue structures back to a healthy state and restore natural functions to body systems. In this second lesson, we'll discuss the structural system (bones, muscles, skin and connective tissue) and how remedies can be used to restore structure and function to this system. We begin with this system because it is easy to directly observe tissue terrain imbalances in this system. Similar imbalances take place in most of the other systems of the body, but unlike the structural system, the imbalances in these systems are not as readily observed. Students will learn how to directly observe imbalances in the structural system through sight and touch, as well as muscle testing, and correct them with herbs and supplements.

Lesson Three: Health and Disease Start in the Stomach (August 31)

As Steven discusses in his Distributor School program, weakness of the stomach is the number one organ breakdown that starts a cascade of negative effects in the rest of the body. In this lesson, Steven will briefly review some of the material from the Distributor School, but will focus primarily on teaching you how to recognize the iris signs indicating digestion is a major genetic issue in someone, how to muscle test the digestive cascade of organ breakdown and the collaborating signs and symptoms that indicate digestion is a major source of health problems. You'll learn how to differentiate and correct the six basic biological terrain imbalances in digestive tract, as well as some holistic ways of enhancing digestive function.

Lesson Four: The Overlooked and Overworked Liver (September 14)

The hepatic system, consisting of the liver and gallbladder, is often overlooked as primary organ weaknesses, both in modern medicine and by many alternative practitioners. However, it is the second most common root organ system problem in people's health. Poor liver function may not show up on lab tests, but it contributes to a host of seemingly unrelated health issues. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much people's health can improve when the liver is addressed. As before, Steven will teach you to recognize iris signs that indicate the liver is a primary organ weakness in people's genetic makeup and how to use diet and lifestyle changes to improve its function, as well as how to identify and correct the six biological terrain imbalances in the hepatic system with NSP products.

Lesson Five: Your Intestinal Roots of Health (September 21)

Although it does not typically show up as a primary organ weakness, the intestinal system is closely related with the digestive and hepatic systems, so it is often necessary to work on it while rebalancing the other primary systems. This lesson will show how to assess and correct intestinal system imbalances, again reviewing some of the material covered in Distributor School, but focusing more on using iris signs to determine genetic weaknesses in this system and learning collaborating signs and symptoms that indicate intestinal issues are an active problem. Besides looking at diet and lifestyle aids for the intestinal system, Steven will again show how to identify and correct the biological terrain imbalances in this system with NSP products.

Lesson Six: Raise the Shields (Septemer 28)

The immune system differs from all other systems we discuss in this course because it is a body function that is not tied to a specific body location. Immunity is created in the skin, stomach, mucus membranes, blood, liver, spleen, thymus gland and lymphatics. However, in discussing this system, we still rely heavily on the biological terrain model. Rather than focusing heavily on the invaders (viruses, bacteria, fungus or parasites) we focus primarily on the state of the infected tissue and how the immune system fights the infection. Trying to directly kill the microbes is secondary to restoring balance to the body and supporting the natural immune function. In this lesson, you'll learn how to do this with the different stages of infection, as well as a basic approach to cancer and autoimmune diseases.

Lesson Seven: The Breath of Life (October 5)

Although the respiratory system is seldom a primary cause of people's health problems, it is an easy system to support from a biological terrain perspective. As with the structural system, imbalances in the respiratory system are easy to determine by direct observation and simple questions. So, in this lesson, Steven is going to show you iridology indications for genetic weakness in the respiratory system and how to recognize collaborating signs and symptoms of respiratory imbalance. He'll present holistic ways of helping the respiratory system in general as well as specific remedies for each of the six biological terrain imbalances.

Lesson Eight: Balancing the Nerves (October 12)

Our mental attitudes about life and our primary emotional responses have a huge impact on our health. In fact, most people get sick from poor nutrition and stress. The nervous system, being involved in this stress reaction, is sometimes a primary cause of disease, or at least, a major secondary cause, so learning how to manage stress and balance our nervous system is a critical factor in building and maintaining good health. In this lesson Steven will discuss iridology and pupil tonus signs associated with major nervous system issues and remedies that can help to correct imbalances in the nervous system. More importantly, he'll cover the holistic, lifestyle things we can do to balance our nervous system function.

Lesson Nine: The Endocrine Symphony (November 2)

In the original Manager School, Steven taught a system of glandular body typing, which utilizes body shape to determine glandular balance. In this lesson, Steven will briefly review the body types and iris signs associated with the major endocrine glands. Then, he'll zero in on the three primary glandular imbalances that are often found as primarily or secondary organ weaknesses. These are the thyroid, adrenals and pancreas. He will discuss the signs that indicate these glands are overactive or stressed and the signs that indicate they are underactive or weakened and herbs and nutrients that can be used to help bring them back to normal function. He'll also help you understand the relationship between our mental and emotional state and the function of these glands, as well as connections between glandular and nervous system imbalances.

Lesson Ten: The Heart of the Matter (November 9)

Although the circulatory system is never a primary organ weakness, once the heart and circulation become impaired they must be addressed in order to restore normal function in the body. After all, every organ and tissue requires a constant supply of oxygen and nutrients from the blood in order to function properly. Steven will cover the iridology patterns, scerology signs and other physical indications that can help you determine if cardiovascular issues are developing long before they become serious health problems. He'll then discuss how to assess the biological terrain of the nervous system and what remedies can help restore normal function.

Lesson Eleven: The Waters of Life (November 16)

Several systems are involved in maintaining fluid balance in the body. These include the urinary system (kidneys and bladder), the lymphatics and the sweat glands. Although its not common, lymphatic or kidney problems are occasionally found to be primary organ weaknesses. In this lesson Steven will cover the importance of water in health and in activating herbs and supplements. He'll explain the iridology signs that can indicate possible genetic weakness in all of these systems, how to recognize collaborating signs and symptoms and the remedies that can be used to restore normal function and balance to these systems.

Lesson Twelve: Reproductive Health (December 7)

The reproductive system is part of the glandular system, but we consider it last because it does not fit the biological terrain model very well. In this final lesson, we talk about ovaries and testes, reproductive hormones, the uterus and prostate and problems related to these systems. Although reproductive system issues are never primary imbalances in the body systems, it is important to recognize they are present and do something to help restore normal function to this system as well. Specifically, Steven will discuss issues like menopause, PMS, pregnancy and prostate problems.
